About the project
I am Kantautė Augaitytė - the founder of the Baltic Interior project. Real estate and home interior design have always been one of the most interesting areas, but I never touched them until I started working with real estate. I had to visit many apartments and houses, but only a few remained in my memory. I realized that what was previously a political goal has now become a modern fashion. Everywhere the same colors, the same interior details, modernity and coldness.
I was more and more surprised when I saw a unique detail or wooden furniture or wooden details somewhere - it was so unique, so cozy and as if close to me. However, I also had another weakness - handmade products. I was amazed by the beauty and uniqueness of the work, I always bought something unique, the jewelry and clothes in my closet became very unique.
At fairs, it was heartbreaking to see how much work and effort people put into their work. I watched their eyes light up when they talked about their products, and I realized that it means so much not only to the creator, but also to the buyer. I realized that I don't want the work of human hands to fade or disappear.
Then one day an idea was born. "How I would like to bring together many creators from our country in one place so that they could sell their products and show them to the whole world" - I said then. We have so much heritage, such an old language, such strong faith and perseverance, such hardworking hands - look at how much we have created. I did not want to sell mass-produced products, I wanted to sell what is created by individual people who do it because they love what they do. I wanted others to learn about our culture. We may not appreciate what we have, but even such a simple thing as amber is almost only left in our Baltic Sea. What we are used to for others is an undiscovered novelty.
Therefore, I invite everyone who wants to join, maybe you have an idea? Maybe you want to contribute to the development? Maybe you are a creator? Or maybe you are just looking for something unique?
